Artist's Description

On this particular morning – Monday 15 June 1987 – we left the Gold Coast caravan park at Ashmore (with our caravan in it) at 6.10am bound for a small Public School at Urbenville, some 150 kms away in the ranges of northern NSW. It was as well that we had allowed ourselves plenty of time because the scenery along that particular road was stunning and we were making frequent stops to take photos of our surroundings which, later in the drive, included Mt Lindesay (photos to follow shortly) I remember that there was a manned gate on the Queensland/NSW border and we had to toot the horn to attract the attention of the gatekeeper to open up and let us pass! The school was great and a pleasure to work at and we were away shortly after morning recess. The staff had told us about a nearby waterfall, which we visited and photographed (to follow!! LOL) and we also made a couple of diversions deep into the ranges on the way back to our caravan, which we reached by 4.45pm. Quite a memorable day!!
