Artist's Description

Moses’ Rock, which is out of shot, came by it’s name during the early years of the 20th century when an old local Aborigine used to spend many hours every day sitting on a rock and gazing out to sea. His name? Moses, of course!
Although there is a bitumen road leading to the coast, access to this particular beach was via a very rough and deeply corrugated track. I had deep misgivings about taking it because I had no idea what was at the other end but at that moment another car came along and didn’t hesitate about turning on to the gravel – so I followed. Oh boy, am I glad I did!! For local travellers this is on the Indian Ocean off Caves Road about 15 minutes south of Yallingup and about 340kms south of Perth, Western Australia
