Artist's Description

I was there when my dad did this. Can’t remember all the details but it was back in the late 1940’s, before colour print film became commercially available. He had a large, heavy camera with front bellows that he mounted on a huge wooden tripod that weighed a ton almost in itself! I remember him setting up this vase of flowers in the dining room and proceeding to take three photos, using a different colour filter each time. So he ended up with three exposures on one piece of film (I seem to think he was using glass plates)
He disappeared into his darkroom and silence reigned for about an hour and a half when he reappeared – a broad grin on his face and THIS VERY PRINT in his hand!!
It is now among my most treasured possessions and is safely filed away.
