Artist's Description

We have just been away on a two day jaunt, hoping to find some early wildflowers. You can judge for yourselves how successful we were by this scene taken in the Leseur National Park, just east of Jurien Bay on the West Australian coast. The gray one is Smoke Bush and was all over the place. To all my West Aussie friends who have never been there I would say drop everything and go! It is wonderful. The park covers almost 27,000 hectares and was only gazetted in January 1992. With over 900 different species of wildflower to be found the park is a biodiversity hotspot and ranks as one of the most important reserves for flora conservation in Western Australia. It would be about 275 kms north of Perth at a guess.
