Artist's Description

Prospect is a small and historic fishing village on the road from Halifax to Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada. It’s off on a side road but well-worth taking the time to visit. Where Peggy’s Cove is out on the open ocean, Prospect has sheltered bays and inlets which give the fishermen far better security from the Atlantic Storms..in most cases. However, Prospect was the landfall for Hurricane Juan when it hit Nova Scotia. On September 29th, 2003, the storm hit at 12:10 am between Shad Bay and Prospect as a Category 2 hurricane, causing widespread devastation to the coastal villages and the Halifax-Dartmouth metropolitan area.
