Artist's Description

It’s actually a fishermen’s workhouse or storage house, but it certainly is private. It’s built on a ledge of rock in the harbour of Blue Rocks, a tiny fishing community a mile or two outside Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada. It’s been the subject of countless photos and paintings, but one more won’t hurt. I was going to post a closer view but I think seeing it’s isolation is more interesting.
Blue Rocks is a very pretty spot to visit, with countless photo opportunities, and it’s about 60 miles on Route 3 from Halifax, (the Lighthouse Route), which follows the twists and turns of the coastline and pops in and out of many villages and towns, each with a unique history that goes back to the 1700’s.
