August 14,2008 was one of those quiet warm evenings on Vancouver Island, when it seemed the only thing to do was get in my Boston Whaler and go out on the water and just wait for the sun to set and the moon to rise. So this was the result. That’s Forest Island, one of a large group of small islands that lie only a kilometer or two offshore from the seaside town of Sidney. Technically it forms a small part of the Gulf Islands which stretch all along the south-east coast of Vancouver Island. They provide endless opportunities for cruising along, poking into little bays and coves, and enjoying nature in all it’s glory. And it’s only a short distance from my house..bonus!
