Sea Surges

Sea Surges

Sea surges
In rushing wind
Gull wings outstretched
Motionless,
Crucified like
Quietly rests while others
Swoop, soar filling
Vast sky with their cries.

Into the shore
Slow, inevitable
Then pulling away
Unable to cling
Sea tossed like
The searching mind
Struggling as one
Incarcerated and in chains.

Yet, horizon distant, waiting
For the travellers yet
Far off now
As answers often are.
Still the journey on
Taking time to look
Gives clear seeing, knowing
There is a way ahead.
