Artist's Description

Devonian ignimbrites and tuffs in distinct beds outcrop at the bend in a creek. Native Australian vegetation tenaciously clings to life on the outcrop. The dipping beds are indicative of major folding in the region towards the end of the Devonian. The rocks themselves are the products of a massive volcanic caldera complex that formed during an early Devonian rifting event.
