Artist's Description

The Old Greensborough Mental Institution is totally abandoned. My girlfriends and I went in there this year and could not believe not only the condition of the place but the feeling, which was very scary.
The site consists of 7 – 8 huge buildings each three to four stories high, it was built around 1890. Every single square inch has been vandalised and destroyed.
Some of the rooms were burnt out completely, some had the windows torn out of the walls, and every spare space was graffitied by morons. It made us all so angry to see such beautiful architecture be so stupidly destroyed.

The really weird thing that happened while we were there, besides hearing footsteps behind us, feeling someone brushing up against us and the negative vibes we got from the whole place, was when i tried to take photos of the building my Nikon SLR wouldn’t work, if I turned my back to the building then it worked. So I turned the camera to manual and the same thing happened, no matter if we were inside or outside. Thinking this was very odd I decided to ask if any spirits were there could I please take a photo, and explained we hated what had happened to their home as much as they did. Every time I id this I was able to take 2 – 3 photos. As you can imagine this made for a long night, having to ask permission every time I tried to snap a photo. Out of the 100 odd photos I took, I must have tried to take 1000. There were some photos that I took after asking permissions that had strange mists and orbs in them.

The place was creepy and the feeling I got from it was anger and dismay.
