Artist's Description

A town steeped in history. Of course you cant talk about Wagin without mentioning the Woolorama. Arguably our second largest rural field days outside of the metro area. And this being a sheep area what better way to highlight it than a giant ram. Im sure one of the largest in the southern hemisphere. It is an old town with an aging population. I dont mean to deride the residents in any way. It is simply a fact of life that the urban sprawl is a factor in a lot of country towns like it. That is the youth and not so youth move on to a place of greater opportunity. Not better lifestyle as these towns generally have a sense of camaraderie you don’t feel or experience in larger populated areas. Another feature of the town is a historical village, very well cared for by the volunteers who also happen to be part of the lifeblood of a great community.
