Artist's Description

This is the better shot, I think. I went back after a while to see if the bug was still there, and he was. So I used the macro setting and got the lens to within a few inches of him. I saw his legs move so he was definitely alive. But why he didn’t fly away remains a mystery. Maybe he’s a she laying eggs or whatever. The two features that strike me most are the very large eyes, and the long narrow body that looks like a totem pole. This is the kind of detail you don’t normally see when they’re darting about the place. He’s quite cute, really… in a buggy sort of way. PS: He’s still there next morning! Taree NSW Australia.
