ON THE PLAIN OF INFINITE GRACE

Some half-remembered vision
shimmers
in the haze
barely but a shadow
in the ruin
of our days…

the vision
we’ve always yearned for
the dream
we left behind
the voices
from the edge of night
we followed
when we were blind…

now rising
from the silence
to glimpse
before we die
at once
revealed
as treasured myth
and reviled
as treacherous lie

too many years
too many scars
each life must endure
before that moment
of relished beauty
bleaches
the mind
to pure

it’s where
we’ve always
yearned to be
just to glimpse,
come face to face
this peaceful moment
of finality
upon the Plain
of Infinite Grace…
