A portrait of my father and his partner together now for over 20 years and just recently married, aged 87 and 68 respectively, drawn in a mix of Faber Castell, Prisma and Derwent coloured pencils on a 30×37cm cold press illustration board.
Wow! This is gorgeous Gary! I think they will be very happy with this…..
Thanks again Lynda for your great comment and encouragement, your a gem. I was going to keep the drawing myself but I will probably end up giving it to my Dad’s partner as his time on our little planet is nearing an end. You must be one of the sole remaining members on this site so don’t forget to turn the lights off when you leave!
I am sorry about your dad Gary! OK! I will remember to turn the lights off! Sad isn’t it? I think they must all have headed to Facebook!
Thanks for that Lynda, perhaps we could start our own Facebook here on whats left of Bubble, all we have to do is upload pictures of what we had for tea last night instead of artwork!
I’m still here too Gary! But I have noticed the drop-off rate lately. A lovely portrait of your dad and his other half. You must have a heck of a steady hand to ink that background in so perfectly. Will it be a pressie for them?
I don’t know about a steady hand Margaret, but its an old fashioned one with the latest trend for black backgrounds being that new scratchboard stuff, must check it out one day. And yes its going to be a Christmas/ wedding present for the couple, guess its never too late! Looks like the three of us are the last on board the SS Bubblanic so I’ll meet you at the stern, or is that the bow in the final moments!. Oh, and thanks heaps for the comment.
Thank you Francis, very much appreciated.
