Jacki Stokes at Garden View Studio
I’m in love with colour and I’m in love with strong vibrant luminous watercolour. For me, although the act of painting is very much about the subject, it’s also very much about exploring the wonderful interactions of the paint.

Watercolour is the most magical of mediums – I like to watch it blend and flow and react, often letting it do it’s own thing, in the knowledge that no two paintings could ever be the same. I use strong washes of wet in wet colour, often using mixed media and experimental techniques to achieve exciting effects and textures.

Although I’ve been painting with watercolour for many years now, I am still amazed and continually excited by this most magical of mediums. I’m still on my journey of discovery; a journey which I hope will never end. Every time I pick up my paintbrush I wonder where the paint will lead me.

These paintings and photographs are my response to the spirit and the joy of Nature.

Until recently moving to East Devon, I was a regular exhibitor at the RHS Artists’ Garden Exhibition at Rosemoor in Devon, and I have also exhibited at the National Trust’s Killerton House and Barrington Court, the Meeting House Ilminster and the Quartz Arts Festival, Taunton. I undertook a week’s solo Artists Residency at Cape Cornwall in Cornwall.

I am happy to create personalised Calendars using any of my Pictures that you choose – just email me.

I trade as Garden View Studio selling an ever changing range of high quality greetings cards, featuring prints of my paintings and photographs, to independent retailers and direct to the public.
Cards and prints are always available online from RedBubble – please click on my shop tab to see the range.

I’m also branching out into Tees, Hoodies, Babywear, Calendars and iPhone cases on RedBubble – be sure to take a look.

This year I will be running some taster workshops for those who have been inspired by my abstract encaustic paintings and by my experimental watercolour techniques. If you’ve been inspired by my work and you live near Sidmouth UK, please contact me and I will add you to my mailing list.

My First Interview as an Artist!

I believe Bev Wells will be next! You can read these interviews and her very interesting tutorials (and see her gorgeous paintings) at: / http://www.eleanormann.co.uk/blog/category/interviews-with-other-artists / I t…

Pricing help needed please

Hi friends, / I wonder if you can help? / I used to have my RB greeting card markup set at 40%, which then became the default markup when I uploaded new work. Then the whole upload mechanism changed. I’ve now decided I want to decrease all geeting card markups to 20%. Apart from going through every single image and re-setting it, is there a quicker way of doing it? / Many thanks for your he…
