The American Society of Media Photographers, Seattle/NW Chapter is holding their Annual Slideshow and Mid-winter Bash on Friday, February 25th, 2011 at Pravda Studios in Seattle from 6 – 10pm. With a vintage theme for the event, I created the appropriation below from a Lumiere Poster as the invite and it is a big hit!!

$10 in advance or $15 at the door, everyone is welcome to attend, but you do need to be a member to submit for the slideshow. There is still time to get your entries in for the slideshow, deadline for submitting is February 22, 2011. To find out about all the details, click on the photo of the newsletter….

there is also a mention this month regarding my exhibit at PCNW along side Henry Horenstein!

Hope to see some of you there!!

Following that a group of us will be heading over to 99 Front Street in Issaquah to Vino Bella, (this intimate space is as cozy as it is sophisticated, from the leather chairs surrounding the fireplace to the amazing wine list…. this sexy spot turns out a fabulous crowd in the heart of Issaquah) to be enchanted and mesmerized by the music of The James Howard Band, hailed by the Highway 99 Blues Club as " Seattle’s Best Kept Secret. As you all know, I’ve been so busy lately, that my time over here has been really limited. I miss all the interaction with the artist here, but I’ve not been shy of your endless amounts of inspiration and joy you infuse my heART ’n SOUL with whenever I come to browse.…

So, for you and everyone who comes to see what I’m up to here, I felt an update was due and my most recent and exciting news is being hired as the house photographer for Kirkland Performance Center ! (Thank you to a referral from my good friend, Tom Olson, who I shot video and stills for this summer at Hot Rocks TV in studio and on location.)

Meeting with Ron Reeder

Just a short journal tonight, as I have the time between basketball practice with my son and prior to dinner and an evening engagement with my fiance to tell you of my dizzying experience today. It wasn’t the one glass of wine that I languished during our short hour visit, that got me in this state of being, but it was taking in the amazing talent, spirit and imagination that is felt and seen in Ron Reeder’s work.…

Take a moment to view his immense galleries of work that range from meticulous photographs that yearn to immitate Ansel Adams, and in dynamic range, attention to detail and vivid nature of the 4×5 negatives they do, but then the process of which Ron has continued to fall in love with, the art of platinum and palladium printing , you undeniable find the heart and soul of today’s

FotoRevu of "heART that is making a difference"

just an update to the 22 fabulous artists at RB who worked together with me to publish heART that is making a difference and this includes ALL the fabulous artists at ♥show me a sign♥

on march 20th, 2010 when i attended the FotoRevu— at PCNW, we made one of the reviewers cry, after composing herself, she said that our work is “extraordinary and deserves further publication” and giving me a list of contacts of which i should let them know she said it was “imperative” they take a look… well according to our metrics that week and the following week, they did!

I am looking into requesting sponsorship from an organization that would pay to create an exhibition to include a live performance by JD Martin to coincide with National Youth Homeless Awareness Month in November.

♥ heART that is making a difference ♥

one of the people who have i have been blessed to know along this journey and who has truly inspired me the most is Zachary Bonner… as you know he was featured in a RedBubble artist collaboration heART that is making a difference that was published in September 2009 recognizing true stories of need from around the world and the artists and organizations that we believe are truly making a difference in the lives of others; highlighting FareStart, do1thing, playing for change, and Zachary’s foundation The Little Red Wagon … for those who aren’t aware, this book was published as a multi-media project and intended to be viewed while listening to the song One Heart which is written, performed and used by permission by JD Martin and all proceeds go to support the organizations of choosing by sh

♥ favorite corner of the universe ♥

i am so far overdue on just expressing my love for this community
and how much i have grown from being a part of the incredible energy and inspiration
i find here, at any given moment, i am in touch with so many soulful heARTs…
this really is my favorite corner of the universe…

to each artist who shares not only their love of life through the lens
but comes to experience mine, to stay for awhile, to connect, to learn, to grow
like holding hands, we walk this path together, each bringing
fresh eyes, fresh perspectives, like planting new flowers along the way

this really is my favorite corner of the universe
from here i can see to the farthest reaches of the earth and beyond
i climb mountains, sit in cool waters, and look up to the sky and farther still
i find new places i’ve never known, and am remi
