Artist's Description

“I remember those days when…

I roamed in the lush green…
I filled my lungs with the smell of the soil…
Fresh green herbs smelt so good…
I remember taking bath in small water channels in the fields…
I can still hear the “tuk-tuk-tuk” sound of the pumps that drew water from the wells…
And aah… Jumping in those wells… Playing with birds and animals…

The hard work of the day and then fresh food from the farm…
and then a quick nap under shadow of a tree… on this wooden bed…
Heaven was down there on earth…
I can’t forget how I slept in the trees that grew onthe edge of my field…

I can’t forget how safe an secure I felt…
standing on that piece of earth which I proudly calle MY OWN…

I wish I could live those good old days again…”

Said the Lost Farmer…

This particular shot is close to my heart… I have not been a farmer but have been a serious farm dweller in my childhood… I’ve had all the fun and most memorable time of my childhood spent in farms and fields…

This structure in the photograph is a wooden bed made above ground where the farmers would take a nap up and away from damp ground… They could overlook their entire filed from there… Throw stones through their hand-held catapults to fly away the brid who might ruin their crop… I just loved to climb such Wooden beds… I can imagine what a farmer would feel when he is parted from the fields he once called his own…
