spindling down

your web extends far along my body
ensnaring every sense and spirit.
My heart has fallen prey to your entangled mess
and i fear i cannot escape.

i am trapped in your ever sticky world
your poison flowing through my veins,
slowly melting my limbs to stone
and hardening my ever-slowing heart.

i try to escape, yet your binds are too strong
and they hold me firmly in your place.
Your words cast more lines over me
and i know i am too weak to struggle further.

you creep ever closer and i know i shouldn’t match your gaze
yet i look up, meeting your eyes, seeing my predator
and all chance of leaving this web comes undone,
for you are my world and this was our place.

who would take me in? a palpated moth with little to give
and little to say, for my words remained behind in your web.
i am damaged, i am heart-broken and your trail of string
still holds tight to my heart and i have no knife to sever it.

please release me and let my wings fly free,
let my heart rest in a cocoon of warmth.
give me a second chance, cut the chord
or at least bind it tighter
and
make this a
noble surrendering.
