[ there are moments ]

there are moments like these when my heart pumps at different times for different things; things it can have but doesn’t want and things it craves yet can’t possibly attain. It maintains faith, even when the mind is telling it to forget it and move on, its desperately hopes, at times splitting in two to grasp what it desperately needs, to feel again that lingering moment, the matching beats of two hearts. For now my heart is lying low, rarely beating hard, ever fleeting and i wonder why it remains so still, so numb for in my blood i can feel you. I feel you pumping through my body, making me want you so badly that even my limbs crave your touch, my eyes seek to find yours and my ears straining to hear your voice.

Perhaps my heart is exhausted from all the strain, from the resistance my mind places on my heart to stop beating so rapidly. but my mind thinks it knows what my heart desires yet it has no idea… not even my heart knows what it wants, the flutters of confusion are constantly felt and i wish it would decide. It wants what comes close but never close enough to attain and it desires the beat of another heart that is too far away for the beats to combine. It rejects the heart that tries to capture it and toys with others, beating in sync for seconds, maybe minutes, maybe hours but never longer for it fears the break.
It always fears the break. It never likes to attach too many strings between another heart for each little tear leaves a mark, each broken string is left to form a tangle of heartbreak and misery.
