Thanks for this. That kettle has me worried. What’s the kettle’s part in all this? Is he about to brew a pot of coffee? Is it ok to do what he’s doing, so long as he doesn’t do it in the presence of a kettle? In Hong Kong they have signs everywhere like this (sans kettle, of course) over nearly every grille and drain in the street, saying “Please do not squat over drain!” and you’re like “man! i didn’t even think about doing that until you mentioned it. And here i was using the lavatory like a sucker!”
Hehe – the kettle carries water used for washing your hands and other parts. Just because people are doing their business outside, does not mean they are not maintaining acceptable levels of hygiene…. ;-)
