Melanie Dooley

McDowall, Australia

I have no training in art or design – everything I do is from teaching myself. Most times it works, but sometimes it doesn’t....

I have eclectic tastes, but most of my work involves taking antique, old and tattered images or things, and giving them a new lease of life. I used to call myself an assemblage artist – now I call myself a revivalist.

I dabble in many things:

>> I have a range of clear stamps and digital downloads at: Empire Line Stamps

>> I design antique assemblage jewellery, and sell it at L’Atelier Talaru

>> I sell antique jewelry for collectors and jewelry designers at La Comtesse de Talaru

>> I have a website and blog, where I write about what I’m up to, inspirations and interesting finds. Empire de Talaru

I do have a day job, but maybe office work is not satisfying my creative soul. Hence, what you see here.

I made my first one, for sale on my Etsy store, deliberately light and delicate. I aimed for a v…
