"Somewhere Weeping"

In iniquitous nights,
as the worlds lay sleeping
There are cries of children
who are somewhere weeping

Hollowed eye’s of fear
as hunger speaks their name.
Not a room for shelter
nor cloaks to hide their shame

Little tear’s pool in mud
whereon the earth they lay
As they lament in silence
will the morrow bring play.

Their tiny bellies distended
from the famine of bread
And their bodies too weak
to uphold their heads

Where’s the shame for hunger
that so many children know
Who now weep in the gallows
and walk about with no clothes?

Artist's Description

A poem that strikes at the heart of what we are seeing in many parts of our world. How sad that we can put men on the moon, create technology that can change the modern worlds in ways we never imagined, yet be unable to meet the basic needs of most children in our world. Our hearts should be broken before God for this travesty to human life. May God forgive our indifference to human suffering~
