A man sleeps in the outer prayer hall, perhaps having read the words at the entrance “Enter herein in peace and security”. The mihrab is visible through the inner doorway.
This Jamae or “Chulia” mosque was built between 1830 and 1835 by Chulia merchants from India’s Coromandel Coast.
