This past weekend I took a trip to the DeYoung Zoo with my youngest daughter. Last summer we tried this trip and she got very ill and we ended up spending some time at the Hospital in Marinette, WI. My oldest daughter was spending the weekend at a friends house and Kendal decided she needed to go to the zoo so off we went. The zoo has a variety of animals but their specialty is big cats. They have 4 types of tigers, lions, cougars, white tigers, tiger cubs, and all sorts of others. They have a large petting zoo there and at certain times of the day they will bring out the new borns so the kids can have a chance to see them and learn about them. Kendal was able to hand feed their Hippo, hold some sort of tropical tree raccoon, baby snow monkey, and a wallaby. If you are ever in that area it is kind of a cool place to visit. They were featured on Nat Geo’s show “My life is a zoo” this past winter.
This is a photo of some type of chicken I’ve never seen before. I think its a type of polish chicken. Phyllis Diller would be proud.
