Transformation

The path ascended
Through granite rock
As cold as the emptiness of my resolve
Past dried leaves
That echoed the brittle disquiet of my soul
Over hollow charcoaled giants
Bleak reminders of my smouldering discontent

I labour to recognise the true motivations within my heart
To find concordance in desire and its expression
To recreate beloved memories
And times well spent

On this very path
I chose to leave myself behind
To render anew the discourse of my life
To form and reform its landscape

The path continues to ascend
Each step yields new perspective
Each adds texture to the panorama of my life

And gratefully
My final destination
Remains unclear
