Wish upon a plane

As far back as I can remember I can never recall that I have ever wished upon a star.

Now to some people they may say “so what?” and to others they may say “Oh come on. Everyone has wished upon at least one star even if it was as a child”.
But I am saying I have never done so.

Stars are very beautiful, I don’t deny it.

But when I look up at the fabric of the night sky that is punctured to show this celestial light, sometimes I swear all I see are shards of light that are cold, callous and jaded.
When people look up at them and believe that there is something mystical or even god like about them. They are just large globes of burning gas and like everything else that exists, will eventually run out of will to continue on and die. Why is it when there is a great distance between things that they somehow become mystical or mysterious? To see the truth sometimes face first can be suprising and disappointing at the same time.

But I can remember wishing upon planes, well not really the planes but the people travelling on this planes. These Souls taking their physical bodies on a trip inside a large metal container with high powered jets stuck to the sides that transport them through thin air

I wish them well, I wish them a safe trip, and I wish them happiness and hope they find/have found what they are/were looking for.
