The Darkness of Humanity has Arrived

The burning has begun…
Deep and unassuming
It encompasses entire thought, entire mind
Numb has become friend
In the midnight hours
When I think of what was
To what could have been
I am my own driver on
This train of madness
That is losing control
Madness is seeping in
I feel it
Taunting me
Laughing at me
I cannot fight it anymore
I have no more left to give
No more inside
There is only a hole there where
My heart and soul resided
This void slowly creeping up to swallow
Me in one shattered broken piece
I cannot fight it, I will not fight it, I do not fight it
If only the warmth of my tears would stay
But I feel the dry saltiness upon
My cheeks
Don’t take my warmth
The last one is about to plummet
The last one to survey the fall

Before I lose it all.
