Artist's Description

Scientists have discovered a second species of the Murphyfly on the icy plains of Utah. This taxon, the Murphyfly gymnuraray has smaller iridescent and translucent wings, stingray-like flaps, and is significantly more dangerous due to its deadly venom. This toxin, when injected into a human via the millions of tiny barbs on the M. gymnuraray’s tongue, induces immediate and permanent enslavement. Humans that have been licked by this species of Murphyfly spend the remainder of their lives in the Murphyfly’s den grooming it and providing it with freshly gathered food.
