I Can Hear It

Well, pin a rose on your nose.
Fall to pieces on the floor.
And I know it all too well.
You’re just a big sell-out.
Don’t breathe.
Don’t lever.
Don’t waver.
For the chance is you’ll concieve more lies.
Mock me more than you could mock yourself.
Self worth.
No more views of self.
Reach out. Push a little harder.
Make some more effort to try and try again.
Join hands and ask God for redemption.
Doubting he’ll spare you.
Doubting there’ll be an again.
An asking more.
Lives torn.
Figures forlorn in the closet.
Trip over one’s self
Self portrait.
Twisting traits.
What you once were.
Nudging every comment,
Never caring who’s right next door.
Who has ears
Who has the right to know.
Come on, join the band
Of outlasting whispers,
Whiskering in the wind.
Oh, yes..
I feel the horror
I feel the heat.
I feel the tension.
Lie in the street.
Nobody has to know
Finger to your lips
When the world spells nothing.
And when the people spoil everything.
It’s grown hard to disappoint me.
I expect none,
For a hope is done.
