The Dance

Have you ever had a dance partner
So perfectly attuned
That you have but to think
And they can dance the same tune

Have you ever had a dance partner
Whose will is as your own

Have you ever had a dance partner
In who’s eyes are envisioned
Keen intelligence and wisdom ancient
Pride of Soul, never diminished

Have you ever had a dance partner
Whom you will never trade

Have you ever had a dance partner
Created from the South Wind
Hot and Fiery
Best of friends, closer than kin

Have you ever danced with the Arabian
Light footed, flowing mane and tail

Have you ever danced with the Arabian
Willing partner, full of heart
Over the miles flying, never faltering
Feet guided with eternal art

Have you ever danced with the Arabian

Have you ever flown without wings

Inspired by the Ancient Bedouin Legend on the origin of the Arabian Horse:

And God took a handful of South Wind and from it formed a horse, saying: “I create thee, Oh Arabian. To thy forelock, I bind Victory in battle. On thy back, I set a rich spoil and a Treasure in thy loins. I establish thee as one of the Glories of the Earth…
I give thee flight without wings.”
