Frank 'FilkFerret' Parker

Gastonia, United States

Filker, Song Writer, Geek,. Science Fiction Buff ……… Miracles on demand, the impossible takes a bit longer.

The Nefarious Ferrets are Frank and Donna Parker of Gastonia, NC. Meeting each other in 2006 at ConCarolinas they realized they had many things in common. Science fiction, a love of music, and animal lovers who both adore ferrets. It was a match made in fandom and the following year at ConCarolinas 2007, they were married.

They started performing as the Nefarious Ferrets in 2009 at RavenCon. Since then they have performed at the Geek Gala in Charlotte, ConCarolinas Filk and Campfire Circles, the Georgia Filk Convention (GaFilk in 2X10’s), the 2017 Filk Guests at AtomaCon in Charleston SC, returning performers at RavenCon 2018, plus numerous house filks in North and South Carolina. They are charter members, along with Larry Kirby of St Matthews, SC, of Filk Carolina, dedicated to spreading all genre of Science Fiction and Fandom Music.

The idea for the tee shirt came from a song he wrote many years ago called Minstrels of the Night. There is as common saying in the Filk Music Community that we spread our songs like seeds of a dandelion blowing in the wind. Filk Music traditional played late into the night and the dandelion are the core to this song.
