Artist's Description

Foot of the Dun (River) .. Cushendun .. Cois Abhann Duinne .. County Antrim,Ireland.

The Swans are at the mouth of the River Dun, where it meets the Irish Sea .. and what is locally known as The Sea of Moyle ..
a place where the children of Lir (spellbound as singing/talking swans) sheltered for 300 years. The far headland is the Mull of Kintyre Scotland which is about 14 miles point to point with the Irish headland here in County Antrim. The Scottish Western isles, Western Mainland and County Antrim formed the ancient Irish Kingdom of Dalriada.
