I was brought up in the 70s in a small outer suburb nestled in the hills of Auckland, surrounded by beautiful lush New Zealand native bush, in a home designed and built by my father in the 50s (and 60s as the family grew!) in a radical – for the time – modernist styling.

One of a family of eight children, my fathers architectural and mothers natural artistic flair, (together with their impressive practical skills in supporting and running a household of 10!) has instilled in all of us an appreciation of asthetics, form and function.

Having moved more into photography rather than traditional art with the digital age (not least because of the ‘instant gratification’!), I am still really a beginner in this field of expression.

Rather than using digital manipulation or filters, I tend to lean towards a “naive” approach in trying to capture the clean and fresh colour, light and natural balance found around our captivating country.
