This Garter Snake was telling me that it did not want the camera any closer to it!! Look at that body language!! It did strike at the camera a few seconds later…no harm done to any creature though, lol!! It was on the road and I was urging it to get a move on, which it did, into the brush nearby…I came back later and there was no sign of it, thank goodness, as a few cars had zoomed by since I saw it.

Thanks for the fave and lovely supportive comment Quinn!! :O]
Cool! Great capture, Tracy! It must have been using the residual heat on the road to warm up. Nice rescue job!
Ya…I’ve seen to many poor snakes killed that way…there was a gorgeous milksnake killed by my house a few weeks ago, and they are becoming a threatend species in my area…made me rather sad…
Thanks very much Mikey!! :O]
Thanks Ray!! :O]
How fabulous! Wouldn’t want to meet this one!
These snakes are really not bad at all…non poisionous and actualy rather friendly if you approach them calmly…this fella was upset cause I was trying to move him off the road and into safety…he was putting on a show to try scare me…lol!! :O]
This is great ! When my kids were little they brought home a garter snake. We thought it was a male until it had about 10 baby snakes LOL !! Thanks for sharing :)
