Artist's Description

This piece of bogwood is about 6000years old. The marshes in Essex were repeataedly flooded over the 6000 years which deposited more and more silt on top of the shattered trunks until recently dug up. It was oreserved ub sukt ub dutches where there is no oxygen to cause the wood to decay. Now it is exposed to the air it will slowy start to decompose again.
