This is just part of the beach at Portsalon in Donegal, Ireland. It is very beautiful to approach this from an elevated position.
I took the information below from some research on the area and not even I realised I was living quite so close to the second most beautiful beach in the world. If Ireland had better summer weather I might be inclined to agree but even on dull days it is still pretty nice to look at.
Portsalon has the second most beautiful beach in the world, according to the Observer. Its wedge of golden sand sweeps gently under the Atlantic amidst vast skies and distant mountains. The whole place is part of a National Heritage Area, with plenty of wildlife and stunning views on offer. A headland protects the beach from the Atlantic’s worst weather. Porsalon Beach is also a Blue Flag winner and patrolled by lifeguards in summer.
