This is the entrance to a house which belonged to one of the best know fishing families in Donegal. Standing on a lonely shore the house was isolated when the tide came in. I remember as a young girl being carried from a boat into this house. I had never been back to it since that time in the 60’s. Recently there was a spate of burnings in this quiet and lovely place and this house was gutted. Because of the inaccessibility the fire brigade could not get through and the house which stood for years was gutted. People stood on the road across the tide and were powerless to do anything. Why oh why do some people have to destroy. The views from the house of course are intact and I will put some of those up later.
