I’m Aoi Fujita, a Japanese surface designer living on the Isle of Man. I grew up in Kanagawa watching the seasons turn, then trained in Tokyo in pattern and print. A short freelance stay on the island became a move — the light here changes by the hour, and I kept wanting to paint it. I make luminous botanicals and seasonal fields: flowers, leaves, frost and weather, pushed a little past the real. Tokyo taught me precision. The Irish Sea taught me mist.
