2008 is almost over...

All year around, people look forward to a week or two in December where they can relax and recharge but end up stressing out over making their Christmas perfect. The day comes and goes in a heartbeat but the holiday excitement doesn’t end till the end of the year!…

Natalie wanted to know how the year has been for everyone so here goes…

State your name and your business.
Faizan Qureshi, customer services at RedBubble, designer, lazy ass, was a student, hoping to be again, etc etc.

Tell us what you consider to be your RedBubble highlight(s) for the year.
a. Gaining popularity amongst thousands of others without being a professional at what I do. When I came to this site in 2007, I didn’t expect to be known to so many people on an art site. (Never had much luck on dA)
b. Getting the chance to wo

I was approached to be an Italian gangsta. I must say I wasn’t all that sure if I could portray the role very well at first. I approached a relative to take some very simple photos of me in gear and when I finally put together the composition, I think I even amazed myself. Rose almost died when she found out that she had to send nude 3D chicks to a mere teenager (I just turned 20 in Oct).

Now, if you can go buy the calendar and the promotion tee that we put up, we’d be forever in debt to you.

Here’s me… NOVEMBER guy!

One Year Five Hours

Today, it has been exactly one year and five hours since I joined RedBubble. :) It has been quite a journey… it has changed drastically since and I’m glad to have been a part of it.

Metropolitan was the first piece that I created for this site… it’s still my favourite, thus the t-shirt derived from it that has generated more sales than any other:

…and within a couple of hours of joining, I created the following and they stayed. Even after many clean-ups in which many images (including my Seven Sins) have gone:

:) Good times!

How much do we love our fellow RBers?

If you love your fellow RBers, why not join our group that aims to promote the works of artists at RedBubble and all over the web in an effort to bring in more viewers and sales?…

As Jo said in her blog:
It’s a simple premise. Get a group of people and all focus our attention on promoting a handful of works all over the internet. Then next time, my work gets a turn in the limelight.

This is happening right now in the Promote Each Other group.

  • get your art in front of a much wider audience
  • members have reported increased views and sales
  • only promote works you really like in places that you choose
  • see lots of amazing art that would have otherwise passed you by
  • be part of a team who work together to give each other a well deserved scratch on the back

Why compete with every other artist when we can

Community Blog: Artist Arena

2 or so years ago, I bought a domain called (and and I wanted to start an art & design blog there but never got around to actually doing it.…

Now that I am pretty much done with college, I have plenty of time on my hands so I (finally) started this the other night.

It’s basically a community blog, where the bloggers (apply within) just plug an image a day or whenever they can with a preview image of 410 × 200 px so we’re not giving away the entire image… just getting people interested enough to click on it.

The way that I am currently planning on running is using permissions. For example, the other day, I asked Cathie if it is alright with her if I feature her on the blog and she was thankful. I asked her if she’d be interested in taking part and she s

New Site!

RedBubble’s new frame previews inspired me to do a new version of my site. I needed something very quick for the exhibition starting tomorrow and so I came up with this simple logo and site design.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Thanks! :)

This has, so far, been sold 6 times including today.

Thank you all for wearing my work on your chest. I really appreciate it. :)

Creative Arts Festivals, United Kingdom - Updates

You remember UK art festival that I’ve been trying to arrange? Well, here are some updates and questions.…

I have had several meetings with our sponsors in the past 2 months and we’ve been working out a plan. As it turns out, Victoria Square in Birmingham is extremely difficult to book and they were giving us too much trouble. So… what’s the plan?

Well, if any of you have heard of art streets like Brick Lane, London, you’ll know what I am talking about. We’re working closely with the Custard Factory on their very expensive project to bring art culture to the West Midlands.

So, here’s what we’re proposing. We will be arranging an art fair every Sunday where people can come and hang out, buy art, enjoy great company, food, alcohol, performances, etc etc. We will be working on a contract basi
