when you walked away

in those nightmares
or maybe just forgotten dreams
you used to turn your head
when you walked away

and flashed me a smile
or at least some kind of reflection
on what we were

now when your body is walking from me
your eyes just stay away
looking forward
never back at this waiting fool

it’s been years since we were lovers
less since we were really married
and yet i hold on to this dream
when you are just walking away

what a shame
what a shame

when you walked away
