Artist's Description

Findhorn Beach, Moray, Scotland

A pebble explosion with some bird foot prints. Hopefully the bird escaped before the explosion occured :-).

When I was traveling back from Inverness to Glasgow by train, two older gentleman (not to far from my age) who sat across from me notice I was working on some of my images and spotted this one and said they liked it. After speaking to them, I found out they recently cycled on Lewis and Harris (about the same time we were there) and were in Inverpolly cycling on the same day I was there with Ian on a 1-2-1 with some horrific weather. I can not imagine how they battled that wind and side ways rain on bicycles since I could hardly stand straight. Oh yes they said, the wind and rain were brutal and one of them actually gave up and got a ride back to Ullapool. The man who seemed to be the older, was the one who completed his trip by peddle. He also shared some pics he had taken with a 3 mpixel camera someone had given along the way. The images he showed me where actually quite beautiful and ethereal. I like these encounters and hearing these kind of stories of travel and just thought I would share it. Anyway, thought I would post this image as well since I like the abstract qualities myself. I especially like the vein like lines in the sand “caused by the explosion” and the shock waves of light in the foreground. Taken close to sunset.
