A Cow's Tail

Designed by etourist
Acrylic and Chalk Pastel on Pre-primed Canvas Frame, 50 × 40cm, September 2003. This image came about out of the need for an image to advertise an upcoming ArtAction Gawler Inc. exhibition. Previously I had been creating sketches of Cows in unusual situations (deep sea diving for example) with a view to producing a series of paintings. None of the sketches were useful but I thought a cow would still make an ideal subject to promote an exhibition in a semi rural town like Gawler. I grabbed a blank canvas, drew a cow on it and painted it. The image used on the exhibition posters featured the cow only half complete (undercoat only!). The Artist: South Australian Artist, Illustrator, Animator, Writer, Video Creator, Skateboarder and more. David Arandle (otherwise known as The Extraordinary Tourist, etourist or TET), has sold artwork to collectors in Australia, the USA. and has been commissioned to create a number of pet portraits in the style of his popular series of cat and dog artworks. Currently working as an independent animator producing animated explainer videos for clients worldwide whilst creating animated shorts written by David, and featuring his original character designs. When not working David enjoys skateboarding and creating skateboard graphics which are available to purchase from David’s online Skateboard store. Other Animals by etourist

Horses were one of the first animals I learned to draw more realistically at around age 6 or 7. Consequently they sometimes still appear in my art. Oh, I and I do occasionally draw other animals too!
