Artist's Description

Since the day she had been carved into creation Oriah had waited, silently, patiently, with baited breath. She knew if she just sat still, meditating on the idea, breathlesssly turning over the possibilities in her mind, that one day she would be free. Free to dance under the suns warm rays, free to hop from one foot to another, as lightly as the willow brushed her forehead, whilst children played beneath her. They had loved her when she had leaves, when she was more solid and more connected with her mother, the mother of all nature.

How strange that since she had become more like the humans they had begun to avoid her. On long Winter nights when there was nothing to see and less to dream she mused as to why it was the humans were so eager to avoid their own reflection.

Oriah was lonely, she missed the laughter, she missed the worms amongsth her toes, the birds within her belly with their chirping young and endearing attempts at first flight. Perhaps a message would prompt some change…
