Artist's Description

Jumping Stick (Apioscelis sp.) in the Peruvian rainforest, Madre de Dios region, Peru. This species is a member of the family Proscopiidae, order Orthoptera, and as such more closely related to grasshoppers than the typical “stick insects” (order Phasmatodea).
