Artist's Description

Piran / Pirano, Slovenia, the Tartini statue on the town’s wonderful main square. Piran was put together with a Built-Your-Own-Venice kit – note the little palazzo and the Campanile copy – but it has some genuine virtues of its own, and I’m genuinely in love with it.
Tartini was a locally born composer in the vein of Vivaldi.
See? It’s all there, except the gondolas.

Thank you! It’s on the main square of Piran or Pirano, a small harbour town on the coast of Slovenia (formerly part of Yugoslavia).

No problem. It was a Canon 350D with the standard zoomlens. :) It’s still working well, but I’ve moved on to a 450D with a light-sensitive Sigma macro zoomlens (didn’t buy the kitlens).
