Never Met

You have never kissed me,
or cuddled me.
You never have spanked me,
seen me naughty,
or even chastised me.
You have never heard me cry,
or felt my touch,
heard my voice, even though,
it is loud enough.
You have never seen me,
win a race or even,
seen me play sport.
You have never spoken to me,
or listened to me,
in fact; we have never even touched.

You chose to give all those
things away, when
you chose to give me up.
I thank you though;
for your tough decision,
I have had a successful life.
As a mother myself now,
I don’t think I could’ve
ever done it.
That is, given my baby
to someone else, so that
they can call them;
Mother.
