Artist's Description

This series of Mammatus clouds where taken on December 27 2004 just as a really big summer thunderstorm had formed over my house in Perth, Western Australia.

From what I read, the Mammatus clouds are caused by ice in the clouds becoming heavy and causing the cloud to sag.

A very rare site!

I first saw clouds like this after a storm in Oklahoma about 4 years ago and I took some shots but have no clue where I put the pictures. A few weeks ago we had some storms in northern New Jersey and after wards the sky had this bubble effect. I had no idea they were called Mammatus clouds. It’s an awesome sight.
