Artist's Description

This was a early morning Thunderstorm that was located just south of Perth in Western Australia on March 23 2014, we had a good night of thunderstorms that started around 8pm the night before which I also photographed, after watching the radar for a while I saw another storm start developing to the South of the City around 1am, this storm was very slow moving and at 3am it was still where it was 2 hours before, I could still see the lighting from my house so went out to take a look, I also saw a Halo around the moon! (We also had a Moon halo 2 night before) I decided to go back out to take more photos of this second storm and when I got to location with a clear view I noticed I could see the tops of the storm being illuminated by the lighting!

There was still a lot of lighting visible until sunrise, this photo was taken at dawn just before sunrise, the bottom of the storm clouds turned Red for about 2 minutes and I was lucky enough to capture some lighting during the exposure.

Canon EOS 70D And 18-135 IS STM.
