One of those hot, flat days on the Northern Tablelands. I’ve always liked the assortment of stuff that accumulates around farms. This local farm had a lot more until a few years ago when they held a clearing auction.

Wonderful country scene Richard! Beautiful work! :o)
Thanks Marilyn. It’s only two or three minutes from my place so I may do more paintings based on this scene.
amazing ..and beautiful
Cheers Catherine. Hadn’t visited your pages for a while so I just popped over there. I think your ‘Musician’ has an interesting Byzantine flavour to it. Good to see your getting some interest shown in it.
I LOVE your work Richard. Your palette is so typically Australian!
I’m glad you like my palette Lynda because I’m a little envious of the lovely saturated colours you get with your pastels.
Your work really indicates the time of day. The colours are ‘bleached’ during the heat of the day. When I look at this one I can feel the atmosphere, the warmth of the breeze and I feel like swiping the flies away from around my face!!!
Yes it can get pretty hot even up here on the Northern Tablelands.
this is lovely, so much atmosphere and splendid light!!
Thanks Linda. I guess it might remind you of your time in Australia. I see you are in Leamington which is not far from where I grew up – in Woodhouse Eaves just south west of loughborough. I remember well an early morning cycle ride to Kenilworth castle not to far from Leamington.
Congratulations! This painting has been featured in the Landscape Painting group.
Thanks for the good news Lynda. I will be framing this one soon as I was able to show this page to a newly opened shop/gallery in town today and they seemed to like it.
This is very nice work EnPassant. The dog is great addition and capturesthe farm feeling. Great colours and the handling of the buildings is very solid.
yes, it does, summer days in Research, and the hills and open bush …. Kenilworth hasnt changed much in many years, but i wouldnt want to ride my bike along the roads here now… too busy!!!
