clean

bundle me up
in pearly white paper
untainted by any human filth
tie the ribbons tightly
around the thorny stem
red rose reflecting
all of those
who bled for the sake
of human suffering
inflicting wounds
upon the wrists
of every feeble butterfly
excuse me
caterpillar
causing the mouths
to salivate uncontrollably
the sight of blood makes me weak
I am still white
not quite as pearly
fingerprints erase the sheen
though you hold the cloth
that can wipe them clean
